The short version. This is a free, independently run information site. It tells you what Buffalo Trace publicly posted as available that morning. It is not the distillery, it cannot reserve or sell you anything, and shelves change during the day. Call ahead before you drive.
buffalotracebottledrops.com records and analyses publicly posted bottle availability at the Buffalo Trace Distillery gift shop in Frankfort, Kentucky. Availability data is read once daily from the distillery's own public product availability page. Predictions are generated by a statistical model from that history.
This site is operated independently. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or connected to Buffalo Trace Distillery or Sazerac Company, Inc. All product names and trademarks belong to their respective owners and are used only to describe what is being tracked.
The information here is provided for general interest, as-is, with no warranty of any kind. In particular:
The bottle availability tracker, the calendar, the predictions and the per-bottle pages are free to use and carry no advertising. That is not a promotional period — keeping the tracker itself free is the intent of the project. Tips are welcome but entirely voluntary and buy nothing: tipping grants no special access, no priority, and no service.
The SMS alert program is currently a waitlist. Nothing is being charged and no messages are being sent. Joining the waitlist costs nothing and commits you to nothing.
When it launches it will be a paid service. Each text message carries a real per-message cost, so the alerts cannot be offered free of charge. Expected pricing is $8 for 30 days or $24 for twelve months. Both are one-time purchases, not subscriptions — nothing renews, nothing bills you again, and there is nothing to cancel. Final pricing will be shown before any payment is taken, and everyone on the waitlist will be told before anything is charged. The bottle availability tracker on this website remains free and complete — a pass buys delivery convenience, never access to information withheld from other visitors.
A paid version of the SMS alerts may be offered in future. The terms in this section apply only from the moment such a tier is actually offered, and only to people who affirmatively subscribe to it. Nobody on the waitlist is charged by default, and nobody is enrolled in a paid plan without separately and knowingly agreeing to it.
Payments, if introduced, would be processed by an established third-party payment processor. Card details would go directly to that processor and would never be received or stored by this site. See the Privacy Policy for what that means for your information.
The optional SMS alert program has its own terms, presented in full on the SMS alerts page. In summary: it is restricted to United States mobile numbers and to people 21 years of age or older, consent is required and never assumed, message frequency is about one message per day, standard message and data rates from your carrier may apply, and you can stop at any time by replying STOP. Consent to receive texts is never a condition of using this website, and payment is never a condition of receiving the information the tracker publishes.
You are welcome to read the site, link to it, and share it. Please do not scrape it at a rate that degrades service for others, attempt to break or probe its infrastructure, submit other people's phone numbers to the alert sign-up, or present this data as your own or as official distillery information.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator of this site is not liable for any loss, cost, or damage arising from use of or reliance on the information provided, including travel costs, missed purchases, or unavailable products. The service is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
This is a personal project. It may be interrupted, changed, or discontinued at any time without notice. If the SMS program is discontinued, anyone enrolled will receive a final message before it ends.
These terms may be updated; the effective date at the top will change when they are. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised terms.
